Wolf Mating
Views: 2389, Rating: 3.2 (10 votes) Each year, in winter, the Alpha pair of a wolf pack renew their bonds to each other with affectionate behavior before the the mating season that follows. This video briefly shows such behavior as gentle play, pressing and touching against each other as they reaffirm their peaceful and Loving bond as the only breeding pair of the pack. As the female finally reaches the height of her breeding cycle, or heat, the male more and more closely follows and attends her. AS she finally permits her mate to rest his head over her back and mount her, he moves over and takes position behind, and begins searching with his penis for her vulva. For her part she will move her tail aside and even elevate her oregan to help the male penetrate. Once this is begun the male rapidly and strongly breeds her untill he becomes tied with her, and they cannot break apart for a variable period of time. Once tied, the male will often dismount and turn so that they are back to back. Most researchers claim this is a defensive move for protection during the tie as the pair can not escape danger while tied together. During this period both wolves will often make sounds to each other, and even show other affectionate behavior such as licking, pawing and nuzzling at each other. Finally as their bodys release them from the tie, both wolves will clean themselves and rest or play together before they again start courtship for another mating. Their mating behavior lasts only a brief time, and the male mates as often as he can to assure he is the only father of the next springs litter. |
